My Testimony - less than perfect and more than I deserve

My testimony is not a story of perfection…unless you see past me. Whether I can say I’ve done something worthy of your boasting…or whether I must say I’ve done nothing worthy of anyone’s boasting…both are part of my testimony. I mentioned this a couple of years ago, and I’d like to share it again today because of something someone said to me recently In … Read the rest…

The Ruler of This World - it isn't currently God

When you look around, does it appear that God is the ruler of this world? I hope you’ve given your heart to Jesus. I hope you’ve trusted He died and rose from the dead for your sins. I hope your hope is in the one true, living, loving Creator of the universe. I hope you’re willing to lean on God’s understanding rather than your … Read the rest…

28 Marks of the Ministry

Thinking about being a minister of God? Well, here’s a checklist you might wanna run through to see if you’re willing to endure the marks of the ministry. See if you can truly say you are… 1. in much patience 2. in tribulations 3. in needs 4. in distresses 5. in stripes 6. in imprisonments 7. in tumults 8. in labors 9. in sleeplessness … Read the rest…

A Singer Songwriter’s Feeble Note To God

A Christian singer songwriter shares a note to God

If you could send a note to God and know He’d receive it, what would you say? Or ask? Or wonder? Have you ever sat down to write something and had no idea what you were gonna say…or why? I have a theory about that. I believe it’s your subconscious desiring to speak to God. Even if you don’t believe He exists, He still … Read the rest…

I Sweat The Details – but not every moment or every day

Tony Funderburk Posted on January 18, 2015 by TonyFebruary 24, 2025
Don't sweat the details and strive for perfection.

It doesn’t happen every moment, or every hour, or even every day. But I sweat the details when I’m working on projects. So whether I’m working for me, or helping someone else, I have a tendency to zoom in my focus on some of the smallest tasks. Even though I know I shouldn’t do it, I do. OK…note to self: There’s no such thing … Read the rest…

Better off not better than

I know I’m not better than you if I say I’m a Christian and you say you’re not. I’m just better off than you because I know when I’m finally absent from this body, I’ll be “present with the Lord“. Jesus promised, if I believe and trust in Him, I’ll have eternal life. I want that. I don’t want to die and disappear into … Read the rest…

Raisin cake are just for the fakes

When it comes to desserts, I’m often dismayed when I see raisins included. Don’t get me wrong…I actually like raisins. Just not in my dessert. If you’re gonna bake cookies for me (and I’ll certainly let you know where to send them), include nuts…but, please…no raisins. I’m not a fan of raisin cookies, raisin pudding, raisin oatmeal, and especially not raisin cakes. There’s a … Read the rest…
