Snow moon was beautiful but I wasn't dutiful

As I write this, it was just a few days ago there was a Full Snow Moon. As much as I love moonlight, I didn’t stay up to see it, watch it, or log it in my memories in any way. So, if you were counting on me to give you the details, you’ll be sorely disappointed. But I read that it was beautiful. … Read the rest…

Speck of dust and a matter of trust

I mentioned this speck of dust over ten years ago. And I joked about the mutants who formed, completely on their own, once some molten goo cooled down enough. Well, I won’t just keep talking about what I talked about back then. I’ll just share it with you. Imagine, if you will (and you must), a tiny speck of dust. We’ll call it dust … Read the rest…

These days will be gone. Will you go on?

I think about what she said, more often, these days. I’m talkin’ about what my Grandmother said, as I sat on her front porch snapping green beans with her. It was during a couple of years when my brother and I lived with our Dad’s parents while he worked on setting up a new home life. Dad and Mom divorced when I was about … Read the rest…

Celtic art directly from the heart

In 2009 I wrote AND produced 10 lullaby songs in 10 days. Those songs became my first collection of lullaby songs for kids called “Lullabye Bye.” And one of those songs was called “Blue Celtic Cloud.” And when I shared my Celtic art on CD’s, way back when, it turned out to be one of the more popular songs on the disk. Here’s that … Read the rest…

High above the skies with sleep dust in their eyes

In 2011 I started producing the songs for my second collection of original lullabies for kids. (psst…adults love ’em, too) Many people, who bought the first collection, Lullabye Bye, asked me to write some more with a country and western “feel.” And while I’m not a fan of what passes for country and western these days, I AM a fan of the true western … Read the rest…

Earth and sky and a fake Germanic guy

It started like this. A made up god, named Woden created the earth and sky from the dead body of a giant named Ymir. Then, he also created the first man and woman from an ash tree and an alder. And then he established the laws of the universe. But let’s not forget this other made up guy. Because he’s maybe the most famous of … Read the rest…

Mean people, mean place, and a smile on my face

You don’t have to look very long to find mean people. In fact, just say something, on a social media channel, like “There’s only way to live forever,” and watch the meanness flood the threads. But mean people don’t phase me. And they shouldn’t phase you either. And I know most everyone who reads my posts or listens to my podcasts already knows this. … Read the rest…
