Christmas song for all year long

Merry Christmas. And I hope you have an awesome New Year’s Eve and 2023. Here’s a Christmas song I wrote that I believe is a good message for any and all days of the year. (lyrics are in the video and below)

Here’s the link if you don’t automatically see the video: (https://youtu.be/zdcDUknj9NM)

(FYI: there’s a short blurb at the end of the video that says you can get this song and two others when you jump on the The TRUTH. That’s my email list. But those songs aren’t currently available. Other songs ARE still included when you subscribe.)

Here are the lyrics to this Christmas song…

I Believe In The God of Christmas
Some believe there’s just today…
And then we die and fade away…
Such a sad and hopeless life to lead.

Others say we never die…
We all live on above the sky…
Disregard the theft and hate and greed.

But I believe in the God of Christmas,
I believe in His Gift to us all,
And I believe that He died to save us
And that He rose to recover our fall.
Yes I believe in the God who loves us,
And I believe in the God who lives,
Yes I believe in the God of Christmas.
He gave His love, and He still freely gives.

One day soon we just may find
So many millions left behind
In a world where truth is torn apart.
Then no lights, no Christmas trees…
No arts and no humanities…
Will bring peace to any broken heart.

The one day about The Way

It’s the one day of the year when the world is as close to peace on Earth as we’re gonna get. And even then, it’s light years away from true peace on Earth.

So, how’s that for starting out with happy thoughts?

But it actually IS good news for anyone who’s interested in Truth. And I think that’s why Christmas has been such a HUGE deal here in America. We’re a nation founded on Christian principles even though we’ve strayed so far away it doesn’t seem like it anymore. But I still know the reason for the season. And it’s why I write and sing songs about it.

Christmas Is The One Day

You wake up on Christmas
And find that the whole world’s dressed in Grace,
A whole different place.

It’s only on Christmas
And no other day rings half as true
It’s ringin’ for you.

And Christmas is the one day
When God became a man…
When Peace on earth began…
And ended…so fast.

But Christmas is the one day
The hope can rise again…
Inside the hearts of men…
So why don’t…we make…it last?

When you’re livin’ in Christmas
And keepin’ the Gift inside your heart,
It’s like a new start.

There’s nothing like Christmas
To give you back what you gave away.
So, tell me, what do you say…?

Chorus

It’s not about your riches
That will leave you when you die.
It’s the Love of The Creator
That should keep your spirit high.

God of Christmas rules and deniers are just fools

10 years ago I wrote some Christmas songs. And one of them became one of my favorites. Yeah, I know. How unabashedly arrogant of me. Right? No, it’s OK to favor your own creative work. And it’s OK to have enough ego to admit it. Anyway…I’ve been sharing that song for just about every Christmas since then. This year is no different. May the Prince of Peace and God of Christmas rule in your heart today and always.

Merry Christmas!

Please enjoy this song as my gift to you.

One and only God is such a lightning rod

Most of the people of the world don’t believe in the one and only God of Christmas. And that’s a hopeless and futile existence. Whether they realize their hopelessness and futility or not.

And the God of Christmas is THE one and only God.

I know most of the people of the world find that to be an offensive and arrogant statement. And maybe it would be, if not for one thing. It’s absolutely true.

Because the evidence is all around you. God created the heavens and the earth. And God created you and me and every living creature and thing on the earth. So, God who knows every detail of what is best for us. If those things aren’t true, then there is no Truth. There’s nothing you can depend on except yourself.

And 7 billion opinions of what’s true is a recipe for chaos and confusion.

Have you noticed how much chaos and confusion there is in this world right now?

If you follow social media channels, you must have noticed. Because most people are looking for an answer to their hopelessness. But most refuse to believe their hope could lie in the person of Jesus. The most they’ll allow for is that He was just some Jewish carpenter who “possibly” lived 2,000 years ago. Be He couldn’t possibly be the one and only God of Christmas. And He certainly couldn’t be the hope of the world.

But He is.

You don’t have to believe that.

But one day you will. And if that day isn’t during your current time here on Earth, then it will be too late. You will have already chosen to be your own god. And you’ll rule and reign in a universe of one for eternity.

But it’s so avoidable.

This Christmas, get the gift that keeps on giving forever. And only one person can give it. That’s why…

I Believe In The God of Christmas

Some believe there’s just today.
And then we die and fade away…
Such a sad and hopeless life to lead.

Others say we never die.
We all live on above the sky…
Disregard the theft and hate and greed.

But I believe in the God of Christmas,
And I believe in His Gift to us all,
Yes, I believe that He died to save us
And that He rose to recover our fall.
Yes I believe in the God who loves us,
And I believe in the God who lives,
Yes I believe in the God of Christmas.
He gave His love, and He still freely gives.

One day soon we just may find
So many millions left behind
In a world where truth is torn apart.

And then no lights, no Christmas trees,
No arts and no humanities,
Will bring peace to any broken heart.

Words And Music In The Analog Age

Tony Funderburk Posted on December 25, 2012 by TonyDecember 1, 2022
Words and music in the analog age

The first “gadget” my brother and I used
to record our words and music…and silliness…

Combine a sleep-deprived night with a bevy of boxes and bouquets under a tree with trimmings and lights…and what do you have? An excited boy or girl who can’t wait to see if they got that Xbox or iPad or BB gun or doll they were hoping for.

When I was growing up, the BB gun and the doll were possibilities. But the Xbox and iPad would have only been found in the imagination…maybe as a science fiction space ship and the place where it landed. The most high tech gift I remember getting was a do-it-yourself diode transistor radio kit. And my brother and I marveled for hours at how something we could build ourselves would bring in radio stations from far away places.

No, wait! I remember a very special gift one year. My brother and I got a portable reel-to-reel recorder. If I remember correctly it was an AIWA model…similar to the picture above. Boys being boys we couldn’t just hit the record button and do plain ol’ boring recordings of words and music. No, we had to do things like put our finger on the spool to slow it down during the recording…then laugh at our chipmunk voices in the playback.

This was our first peek into the wonderful world of recording…way before walkmans and way, way before iPods and iPhones and iPads. But, in this day of gadgetry within the reach of just about anyone, I think the mystique of electronic experimentation is diminished. Back then we had to “see what it can do.” Nowadays we just expect it to do fantastic stuff with the tap of a thumb or finger. Don’t get me wrong…I like it both ways.

And that’s why I’d better quit writing this blog post on my MacBook and go see if there’s a BB gun waiting for me under the Christmas tree. Merry Christmas! And here’s one of my Christmas songs in a video I recorded using some of those science fiction gadgets.

(sorry, this video is no longer available)
