Information, design, and a shorter timeline

Have you ever heard about a book that wrote itself? Or a website, with tons of pages, that just suddenly popped into existence all by itself? Yeah, no. You haven’t. And we can take that up a few trillion notches. Where was a child ever born without the key ingredients from the mother and father? Nowhere. That’s where. Because information, design, and life are required for anything to exist.

I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s worth repeating. The genetic information contained in each of the trillions of cells in your body is roughly equivalent to about 4000 books. Wrap your mind around that for a minute. 4000 books of information in each of your cells.

All that complex information, design, AND LIFE in trillions of cells.

If you believe all that could simply create itself, you have a lot more faith in dirt, goo, and chance than I do.

Scientists KNOW their experiments always point to intelligence. And that even includes the atheistic and evolutionary scientists. Of course, they’ll go to just about any length to deny that truth.

But why? Why would they prefer the myth of evolution and chance?

Would you believe money plays a huge part? No big shocker if you’ve paid attention over the past few decades. Yeah, the vast majority of “research” scientists are funded by grants from the government, large donors, and other sources. They’re always on the lookout for this funding because their lifestyle and prestige depend on it.

So, ain’t that just dandy? You and I get to fund “scientists” who hate us. And don’t think they don’t.

But you don’t take my word about the evidence for information, design, and life. There’s a Phd from M.I.T. who shares a TON of evidence in an amazing book called “In The Beginning.” I’m not an affiliate for the book. So, I’m not sharing the link to make money. Just so you know.

Verifiable evidence is the elephant in the room.

And sometimes that elephant is a dinosaur. Like when DNA is found in the SOFT tissue of dinosaur bones from 80 million years ago. And even in insects and plants caught inside amber they say is up to 120 million years old.

But those millions of years are chicken feed. Because living bacteria has been found in rocks that are supposedly up to 650 million years old. But hang on. Yeah, I can even beat that number. Italian scientists have recovered 78 different types of dormant, but living, bacteria in two meteorites that are presumed to be 4.5-billion years old.

Maybe it’s just me. But the evidence for information, design, and life thrill me.

They help make every day SonDay.

Because the one, true, living, loving God designed me
In His heart is where I know you’ll always find me.
My eternal DNA is in the Truth, the Life, the Way.
And the lies that rule this world will never blind me.

Mobile office and blue skies put a sparkle in my eyes

It’s pretty amazing what technology can help you do these days. For example, I’m using my iPhone as my computer to write this. And I’m typing on a small bluetooth keyboard that feels almost as good as the keyboard on my laptop. And my computer…I mean my iPhone…is propped up nicely on a little “drawer” in the dash of my mobile office (aka my little blue Toyota truck).

My mobile office is parked in the sunshine with a view of Pike’s Peak.

And from this vantage point I can see a fairly long stretch of the front range of the Rocky Mountains. Blue skies, snow-capped peaks, and a few swatches of white clouds drifting by.

It’s an early winter day in the early part of 2021 (January 3rd to be exact). And the fact that I can sit here soaking in the scenery while sharing it with you on my small devices is yet another blessing. In a never-ending series of blessings that come with living in the digital age.

And I call ’em blessings because there was a time, not all that long ago, in my past, when none of this would have been possible. NONE!

But these days, I can write words and music and literally share them with the world…almost instantaneously. Skip the publisher’s rules and arbitrary methods. Skip the hassles of waiting for printing and binding and distribution. And skip the need for bulky, loud, and unreliable equipment.

Now, it’s just a matter of whipping out the little device you carry with you all the time, open up your word processor app of choice, and typing your thoughts.

And here’s what’s especially cool about all this.

The information and resources to do all this have been here on our little blue planet since the day it was made.

Let that sink in for a minute.

Yeah, every single thing you and I ever needed, to be able to type words on a little keyboard and have them show up on a small screen (connected through the air) has been here our whole lives.

The only thing lacking, until this time in history was the know-how. Knowledge, which is synonymous with understanding.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s part of why God tells us to get understanding. Matter of fact, He says “in all your getting, get understanding.” But He adds a caveat just before that when He says “Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore get wisdom.”

And that’s because humans tend to have an uncanny knack for messing up a good thing. So many people immediately look for (or stumble into) a way to corrupt or pervert the very things that make their lives better and easier. And it’s almost impossible to avoid being one of those people without wisdom.

But that’s not you and me. Right?

No, I’m sure you’re just as much in awe over the ability to have a tiny, mobile office as I am. And I’m sure you wanna use your technology and gifts and talents to help others get and maintain an eternal perspective on life.

If so, I encourage you to look for opportunities to serve others. Starting today, if you haven’t already. And help them see how they wouldn’t be able to enjoy any entertainment or business applications on their smartphones, laptops, or TV’s, if God hadn’t put all the information here in the first place.

Okay, for today, look for wisdom from The Way.
And you can then do more of what God wants you to.
Your eyes, on the prize, will help you to recognize
God makes no mistakes. So, we have all that it takes
For days, full of praise. Never-ending life-filled days.

Stay tuned,

Information is beautiful because it proves God loves you enough to make only one of you.

Information is beautiful!

When you dig deep into the building blocks of human existence, you find DNA. And that doesn’t stand for Do Not Ask. It’s actually the abbreviation for Deoxyribonucleic acid. Of course, that’s a fancy schmancy name for genetic information. Even Wikipedia will tell you that. But what Wikipedia won’t generally tell you…at least not without a struggle…is where it all comes from. Genetic information is beautiful because it’s complex and vast. And vast amounts of information point to, in fact REQUIRE, a vast intelligence. After all, whatever (translate that to Who) created the vast amount of complex information, by necessity, must be even more complex and vast. C’mon, you can see that…right?

Information is beautiful because it proves God loves you enough to make only one of you.

Your information is beautiful because it’s uniquely yours.

Information inside your cells determined whether you’d have brown or blue or green eyes, and black or brown or blonde hair, and whether you’d be a boy or a girl (nothing else by the way). When you discover how complex that information is, and when you allow yourself to consider that it couldn’t have happened by accident, you begin to ponder the wonder of a living, loving, Creator God who loves you enough to make only one of you. Wow!

Think about the thoughts and memories you have floating around in your mind right now. Those thoughts and memories have no physical parts. In fact, you can’t feel, smell, taste, hear, or see them. They didn’t create themselves. Information can’t do that. It’s too complex. I know I keep saying that, but it’s because it’s vitally important to understand. The information in the DNA of each of your cells is basically equal to a library with 4000 books. To say that much data stored in the 37 trillion cells in your body happened by chance mutations is absurd and silly in the highest order.

Why would anybody prefer to believe in chance, circumstance, and mutations instead of a living, loving God who wants us to live forever. Chance, circumstance, and mutations don’t care whether you live or die…so they certainly don’t care if you live forever. Instead of fostering hope they erase it.

What will you do with this information?

Toss it aside? Make fun of it? Or will you check out the scientific links I’ve shared and see if your belief system is challenged…and maybe even changed? I hope that’s what you do because I think you’ll be glad you did.

Stay tuned,

All Your Anxieties

Tony Funderburk Posted on July 25, 2014 by TonySeptember 23, 2014

If you took all your anxieties and laid them on a scale, how much do you think they’d weigh?

All Your Anxieties don't add up to much. A thousand pounds? 500? 250? 100? 10? Or none of the above? For the sake of this illustration, let’s say all your anxieties together add up to “none of the above”. I’m guessing you can see where I’m going with this, but stick with me for a couple of minutes.

Since your anxious feelings don’t have any weight at all that can only mean one thing…they only exist in your mind. I’m not saying you’re not facing any obstacles or challenging trials in your life. I’m just saying the anxiety only exists in your mind.

So…that being the case…where do you think the solution to ending your anxieties begins? Right. In your mind.

Will all your anxieties magically disappear if you merely think positive thoughts? I’m gonna say no, and that’s from personal experience. It’s great to think positive thoughts, but your brain is hardwired with logic. And logic says there are multiple stimuli in your world and therefore multiple thoughts coexisting in your brain simultaneously. This is good. It means we’re thinking and feeling and processing information all the time.

Now…here’s the good news. Your brain can be fed better information and you’ll be able to get better results.

“Gosh, Tony…where can I get this so-called “better information”? you ask.

I’m glad you asked. It’s simple. From the manufacturer. Yep, like any good product of engineering, you can go to the manufacturer and get what you need to keep YOU in better working order.

Your manufacturer isn’t evolution or mother nature. Your manufacturer is your Creator. God. He designed you and knew you before you were even revealed to your parents.

And you wanna know what God says about anxiety? Well, every time I read about it in the Bible, I see we’re to let it go. Maybe the most famous verse is this: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.“

Would you like to like the Creator of the universe to guard your heart and mind? Then, let all your anxieties go. Give it over to Him. Grab hold of that peace that surpasses all understanding. See…we don’t have to understand it to benefit from it.
