Set in stone with an undertone

A guy named John had a revelation. And not your average, everyday, ordinary revelation. This was THE revelation to beat all revelations. And some say it’s all gonna come true. Personally, I believe there’s an extremely good chance they’re right. But I don’t believe that it’s set in stone.

Because set in stone means it MUST happen.

But what is “it?” And why “must” it happen?

It is the culmination of perilous times Paul talked about, in the Bible. But the “must” part is the point of contention. Because 99.9% of Christians believe, to one degree or another, that the Revelation is already set in motion by God. I don’t see that. Because when I read the Bible, I find a living, loving God of creation. A God who loved us enough to send His only Son to take the punishment for all the bad things ALL of us do.

And I don’t believe the God who loves that much has set in stone all those perilous things.

But I DO believe He knows us better than we know ourselves. And from His 6000 years of observation, He can see what we’re likely to do. Yeah, I believe His power to predict is beyond our ability to comprehend. So, His revelation to John (filled with symbolism AND substance) is the most likely scenario for Earth’s last days.

And that, as always, means the best time to get right with your Maker is (you guessed it) right NOW. Because there’s no guarantee you’ll even get through today alive. No guarantee you won’t find yourself rushing…

Down The River

Down the river there’s a ripple and a wake
That doesn’t seem to end like it does in a lake.
It doesn’t need a storm or a deep earthquake
To shimmer and shudder and shiver and shake.

Down the river there’s a mile-high sky
That changes real fast as the rocks roll by.
It doesn’t share a smile or a mournful sigh.
It darkens and lightens and closes one eye.

Down the river there’s a story to tell
That a few old-timers and their dogs know well.
A tale of woe when the river did swell…
And sent all the rafters to Heaven or Hell.

Down the river, where the rapids break free,
Is a place you’ll be glad that you got to see.
It’s where you’ll decide if you ever will be
Back down the river to the landing tree.
