Interviewed dude with a good attitude

Last year I was interviewed by a fellow podcaster whose focus is on the Christian life. He sent me a list of questions he’d be asking during the podcast. And I wrote down my answers.

After I was interviewed I kept these questions and answers…

What is your daily routine?

Up at 4 to read & write my post for the day. Then, it’s breakfast with my wife and we enjoy our morning talk. And then I write for clients till lunch. After my lunch break I finish client work. And work on my own business projects till dinner

What time do you set apart to read scripture, pray, and call others to check on them?

Typically early morning. But sometimes, like anybody, I have to be more flexible. Because, for some reason, the whole world doesn’t revolve around me and my schedule.

What moves you to seek scripture for daily living?

I know the source of Life, and He’s also the source of answers for life.

Favorite verse? Why? What is your understanding?

Well, I don’t really have a favorite. But one I really like”because I’m a singer/songwriter…is Colossians 3:16. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

What are you feeding on right now besides your bible?
(could be books, devotionals, movies, music) and why?

Mostly the help tools in my Logos Bible software because there’s so much there I’ll never reach the end of it.

What does the end of your day look like?

More alone time with my wife. And we eat, talk, maybe watch a movie. Then to bed, usually by 10

How important is community to you?

A community of like-minded believers is getting more difficult to find and hold together these days. So, it’s important to stay connected with at least the closest ones. Of course, Jesus experienced the same thing.

What hope can you leave behind for listeners in any stage of faith?

Even if you feel like there’s no hope in your life, think about your capacity to love. Because you know you can love. And knowing that proves you have hope. Because like 1 Corinthians 13:7 says, Love “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things””

Being interviewed about my Christian life was easy. Because it’s the only lasting part of who I am.

My faith isn’t something I pick up
When I don’t have something else in my hands.
My faith is the heart of who I am
In the One who makes sure my faith expands.

Podcast interview from the author's point of view

From a recent podcast interview

Yesterday I had a podcast interview with Paul G. Brodie from the “Get Published” podcast. Paul’s a mighty nice guy, from Texas, who enjoys helping authors get some exposure and get published. So, I’m glad he invited me to be a guest on his podcast.

Podcast interview from the author's point of view

Here’s most of the questions and answers from my podcast interview with Paul:

Paul: What is the one piece of advice that you would give to a first-time author who is currently writing their book?

Tony: I suggest you find and build your audience FIRST. Then write for them and to them every day. Because writer’s write. So write every day.

Paul: And what do you feel is the hardest part about getting published?

Tony: It can be most difficult when you leave the responsibility of it in the hands of others. But when you take on publishing as simply another part of your writing work, then it’s actually pretty easy these days.

Because the traditional publishing route is fine.

But it’s not necessary when you write, every day, for that audience you built and keep moving forward.

Paul: Please share a marketing strategy that you have used in your book launch that worked well?

Tony: I connect my books to my music and share it all with my focused audience on my Podcast. And that’s in addition to a little bit through social media channels.

Paul: What is your favorite book and what was the #1 thing that you learned from it?

Tony: My favorite book is also known as a letter. It’s 1 Corinthians in the Bible. And the #1 thing I learned from it is”even if you conquer and overcome life’s challenges, even if you do amazing things, if you do those things without love, it’s all for nothing.

Paul: What is your favorite quote and why?

Tony: My favorite quote comes from that same book. “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

Paul: Thank you for being our guest on the show! And what is the best way for people to find you online?

Tony: Thanks for having me on the show, Paul. And the best place to find me is: TonyFunderburk.com

Well, there you go. Short and sweet.

Paul told me this episode would be available to listen to on July 19. So, if you’d like to hear it, go to this link:

When is the end of the world as we know it?

What Should A Singer Songwriter Do Before The End Of The World?

First things first. When is the end of the world?

Well…I don’t think the end will happen for at least about 1007 years. But I’ve decided to line up some ambitious goals for 2012, and I hope to accomplish them even if my estimates are wrong.

I won’t say what they are specifically, yet, but they include a bunch more songs, some books, more live music performances, and something I’ll call TonyFun 7.0 (hey…nobody’s a 10)

So, my recommendation is that you sign up for my emails (look for the guy holding the sign on the side) because you’ll be among the first to get 3 free songs and know about live shows, schedules, and more. Now…I gotta get back to work on this crummy TonyFun software.

The End

I made friends with silent eagles
Traveled worlds and worlds of sky
Conquered continents of knowledge
Speaking only with my eyes

I have seen the tides of freedom
Swept onto the shores of man
I have seen the storm of greed
Take it all away again

But the eagles always flew with me
We had safety and security
And our lives were filled with purity
There was nothing but our love to see

Now the world is as it first began
Free of guilt and greed and free of man
But I travel with my eagle friends
Living for awhile in this the end

Story Time Podcast 10: The Lion’s Story

Tony Funderburk Posted on March 20, 2011 by TonyJune 25, 2024
Writer singer illustrator, Tony Funderburk, recycled some of his classic Story Time Podcasts

Since I consolidated my different media sites I need to make sure all the fun things show up here that used to show up somewhere else. So I’m introducing my Story Time podcasts from my old Ton-O-Fun Tunes website into this site. There are 11 of these stories in all. Disregard anytime you hear me mention my old website for kids music, Ton-O-Fun Tunes.

After a 2 week hiatus I finally got my voice back and found another story to share with you. This episode is called “The Lion’s Story”. Here’s a short excerpt…

“In this bag is a duck you killed earlier today”, said the lion with a serious voice. “Tonight you plan to cook it in a pot over the open fire.  Well, from that fire a little spark will raise up and fall on your shed. Then the fire will burn the whole house…and then the whole forest”. © Copyright 2011 Mihai Bengea
