No One Has Seen God

The Bible says “no one has seen God at any time“. Even though He’s invisible to us, He’s still more real than all of us put together. And even though you can’t see Him, you can still see what He’s like. Would you like to know how? OK, I’ll tell you…

…you love others as you love yourself.

Because you can’t say no one has seen YOU. Right?

Does that sound easy? It should, because it is. God makes things easy for us. But we seem to always make things harder than they need to be. God loves you so much, He came to earth and became a man to make up for all the times you do wrong things. While He was here on earth, He was known as Jesus. And Jesus talked about love…a lot. In fact, Jesus is the one who said you should love your neighbor as yourself. Why do you think love is so important to God? Here’s why…

…because when you love others, you won’t do bad things to them. You’ll want to do good things for them. And isn’t that more fun? Isn’t it nicer to see a smile on someone’s face than to see them crying? If you think about it, it doesn’t take much to make someone smile. Does it? Sometimes all you have to do is make a funny face, and you can make someone smile…or laugh. Maybe you’ve made your mom breakfast in bed for her birthday or Mother’s Day. Didn’t that make her smile? Pretty easy, huh?

Of course, sometimes you’ll meet someone who is very, very unhappy. Then, it’s a little harder to make them smile. But you can do it. You just have to show even more love. It make take a little more time, and it may take a little more effort, but you can do it. When you don’t give up, you’ll be showing them love like Jesus showed you. Can you imagine what happens then?

Well…even though no one has seen God, you’ll be showing what He’s like. His love can shine right through you into the faces and the hearts of other people you meet. Then, they might want to know Him like you do. And just think…you’ll be helping them to Heaven.

Do you think you could do that for someone today? If so, tell me about it. Here’s a rhyme to help…

I can show love to my neighbor.
And neighbors are all around.
When I show love to my neighbor,
They can go from lost to found.

Only For A Little While

Whether you’re going through life at the bottom of the totem pole…or you’re the king of the hill…remember, it’s only for a little while.

Don’t worry if you see others doing more or better than you. There’s almost always someone else doing less or worse. You just need to focus on being the best YOU you can be. That takes your whole life. But the good news is, you don’t have to do it alone. You can always lean on your Creator. Jesus has sent His Spirit to be with you through your whole journey here on planet Earth. How cool is that?! And you can talk to Him whenever you have anything bothering you…or even when you just want to tell Him thanks.

This life you’re living right now doesn’t last forever. So, don’t waste any of it thinking of ways to hurt others. Wouldn’t it be better to think of ways to help others? You never know when someone might need your hug, or your words, or your listening ears. They might think you’re THE one who understands them. And you can help them to discover they’re never alone. When you do, guess what else you’ll be doing…

…storing up treasures in Heaven. And not only for a little while.

Do you know what treasures in Heaven are? If so, send me a note and tell me. If not, ask your mom or dad…or even me. I’ll give you a hint: treasures in Heaven last a very long time.   🙂

It’s only for a little while our time here on the earth.
It’s only for a little while, it’s true.
No matter what you see and do while you are in this world
It’s only for a little while you do.

Before you go, share this link with everybody you know. Tell ’em to jump on the The TRUTH AND get some music and other fun stuff, for Fa-Ree.

Stay tuned,

Life Goes By Fast

If you think you have all the time in the world, you may be right. Then again, it might not be as long as you think. Ask any “old” person, and they’ll tell you the years went by faster than they ever dreamed. It’s true. Life goes by fast. And no one gets to change that. Today, I’m posting a video remembering my mother-in-law, Helga, who passed away around 3:00 this morning. She was 87. And I remember her telling me about a year and a half ago that 85 didn’t seem like that long at all. I know what she means.

It’s gonna happen to each and every person. Are you at peace with death. If you know Jesus, you can be. If you don’t, I hope you’ll change that before someone makes a video about your life. Remember…life goes by fast. Don’t just fall off. Be certain where you’re jumping.

How To Be The Best Copycat

Most of the time, when someone calls you a copycat, they don’t mean it to be a good thing. They mean you’re not being original. They’re saying you copied someone else because you couldn’t come up with your own idea. Has that ever happened to you? Or have you ever called someone else a copycat when you wanted to make fun? Well, it’s usually a mean thing, but I’m gonna show you how you can be a copycat and it’s a very good thing. All you gotta do is…

Copy God.

You might wonder how you can copy God. Especially since another time I wrote to you I told you no one has seen God. But here’s the secret. Are you ready for this? Shh…don’t tell anyone else, but the way to copy God…is to…copy Jesus.

Yep, when you read the Bible, and copy the way Jesus was, and be like Him, you’re being the best kind of copycat. That’s because you’re copying the only perfect person who ever lived on the earth. You can’t get or do better than that. Why should you copy Jesus if you want to copy God? I’m glad you asked. Simple. Jesus IS God.

Now, a lot of people in the world don’t believe that.

But that doesn’t mean it’s not true. And some other time I’ll show you ways you can know it’s true. But for now, look up the places in the Bible where Jesus talks to people. See the things He did and said. You’ll find out how much He loved us. More than we can even imagine!

When you say and do things like Jesus, you’ll be a copycat. But you’ll be copying the one person with the most love the world has ever known or ever will know. So, I hope you’ll start today. Try to do one thing like Jesus. When you do, write me and tell me what a copycat you were. And I’ll show you how God likes that.

Keep Your Lips Sealed

When people around you are flying off the handle, that’s a good time to keep your lips sealed. Wanna know why? Because then you won’t sin. When everybody’s yelling at each other, mean things and hurtful things are said. Sometimes things get yelled that aren’t even true. Other times someone calls another person a name, and things really go wrong. When you see that happening, be quiet. Then, you won’t get caught up in the terrible things.

What good does it do to keep your lips sealed?

I’m sharing this with you for your own protection. If people around you are doing awful things, you don’t wanna be part of that. Do you? No, it’s not good or smart to get caught up in all that. That’s why God says someone who keeps his lips sealed is wise. And being wise is the best thing you can be. Being wise is something you should work on your whole life. There’s no time better than now to get started.

So, if you find yourself around somebody who’s yelling, or saying terrible things, or just trying to be mean…keep your lips sealed. Don’t let yourself get pulled into it. You’ll be doing a mighty good thing. And when you do, let me know about it…OK?

Keep your lips sealed when others yell.
It is the wise choice, and time will tell
How you were smarter and trusted God.
Just keep your lips sealed, and only nod.

Stay tuned,

Saying You Love Someone isn't enough.

If you told your mom or dad you love them, but then you always disobey and make trouble, what do you think that says about you? It says your words don’t mean much. You can tell anybody anything. But if you don’t mean what you say, they’ll know it. If not at first, they’ll catch on after a while. That’s why saying you love someone is not enough. You need to show ’em.

The good news is…everybody is looking for love. All you need to do is make yours easy to see.

How do you do that? Well, think of how you like people to show you love. Then do some of those things for others…even if they’re not doing it for you, or even if they haven’t done anything for you all day. You be first.

Remember, saying you love someone is not enough.

Do something nice, and see how much better you feel. And don’t be surprised if you make someone smile. Do something nice, and I’ll bet some nice things happen for you, too. Think of it this way…

Saying you love someone is easy to do,
But showing your love should be, too.
Starting today, with the words that you say,
Share all the best parts of you.

Saying you love someone is not quite enough
And backing it up might seem tough,
But make it your plan, I’m sure that you can
Because you’re made of the right stuff.

Do you believe in something or someone you cannot see?

You cannot see God, but you can believe in Him

Did you know millions and millions of people believe in invisible things? In fact, I think most everybody in the whole world believes in at least one invisible thing. Does it sound weird to you? Well, let me ask you this…do you believe you love your mom? Or your dad? Or your sister, brother, or friends? You do?! Well, you can’t see love. So, maybe believing in something or someone you cannot see isn’t so weird after all.

The Bible talks about believing even when you can’t see. It’s called “faith“. But the Bible also talks a lot about how even though you can’t see God, you can see what He’s done. The whole world wouldn’t exist if God didn’t exist. You wouldn’t be able to love anybody, if God had never made you. This is so simple I bet you can understand it easily…you can’t get something from nothing. You get that, don’t you? Well, guess what…

…a lot of scientists, who should know better, still don’t understand that you can’t get something from nothing. Now, that’s weird.

When others think about you, you cannot see their thoughts.

And when you love somebody, can they see your love? No. They can see something you do for them, but they cannot see your actual love. Because love is invisible. God is the source of love, and He’s invisible too. But you can trust in Him just as much as you can trust in your mother’s love. After all, God made her, too.

So…are you willing to believe in the God you can’t see? I promise you He’s more real than all the rest of us put together. And if He wasn’t real, you and I wouldn’t be either. But if you still have doubts…or if you’re wondering about it, let me know. Ok? And even though you can’t see me, I’ll answer back the best I can.

You cannot see the One who created you,
But He made the world, and He made you, too.
And His love protects you through and through
If you trust in Him, and truly want Him to.

Happiest Day Saddest Time

The happiest day ever

One day, Jesus will come back. And for those who love Him, it will be the happiest day ever in the history of the world. But it will come at the saddest time the world has ever known. So…there’s good news, and there’s bad news…

The good news is…the happiness is for anyone who wants it. In fact, everyone in the world could have it, if they wanted it. But you know what’s sad? Most people don’t want it. Know why? Because real happiness comes from Jesus. And most people in the world don’t want Him to be their friend. That’s truly sad because He wants to be everybody’s friend. He proved it a long time ago when He left His special home in Heaven to come to earth for a while. While He was here He helped all kinds of people.

If a man couldn’t walk, Jesus would heal him and the man could walk. If a woman told Him her daughter was dying, Jesus could speak words, and the woman’s daughter didn’t die. He could touch the eyes or faces of children who couldn’t see, and suddenly they could!

You’d think back then would have been the happiest day ever.

But, isn’t it weird how so many people on earth hated Him so much they killed Him. They still do! But Jesus rose from the dead and went back home, and…

…like I said, one day He’s coming back to make this mean ol’ world better again. If you love and trust Him, it’s gonna be the happiest day of your life. But it’s gonna come at the saddest time because there’s gonna be a lot of bad stuff happening all over the world. And lots and lots of people are gonna be put in prison forever. Not because God wants them to be there, but because they chose to be there instead of with Him. So sad.

I hope you’re gonna be one of the happiest people. Wouldn’t you rather be with Jesus and the people who love you forever? Wouldn’t you rather live in a beautiful place forever? I hope you choose Jesus as your forever friend. Then you can be happy forever, and you’ll know why the saddest time ever had to happen.

The saddest time that ever was
Is coming one day soon.
But don’t you worry, don’t you fret,
And join me in this tune…

Jesus wipes away the tears
And sad days will all end
For everyone who trusts in Him
As their forever friend.

Inside your heart

What can you see way down inside your heart?

Did you know you have two hearts? And you’re not even a mutant or an alien. The heart you hear beating has blood inside it. A doctor can take a picture of your heart and see what it looks like. But you also have another heart that even the doctor can’t see with all his tools. That heart doesn’t beat like your other one, but it’s where the most important part of you is. Guess what…there’s someone who can even see inside your heart where no one else can see. Wanna know who it is?

You were made by someone who has lived forever. He’s not some old man who lives on top of a tall mountain or up the sky. He’s God. And He’s a spirit, so He never gets old. And here’s a special secret…He knows you better than you know yourself. He can see all the way inside you…all the way through your skin and bones and blood and right inside your heart of hearts. That’s where He wants to be…if you’ll let Him.

When you let the Spirit of God live right inside your heart, you’ll be able to live the rest of forever. I hope you want to do that because I’d sure like to see you in Heaven and be forever friends. If you don’t think you want to do that, send me a note and tell me why. If you’ve already done it, let me know about that, too. OK? Now, here’s a little rhyme to encourage you…

You can have the life of God inside your heart.
All you really gotta do is ask Him in.
He’s already made a Way, so don’t put it off today.
Then, no matter what you lose, you truly win.

God Is Faithful

God is Faithful

This world tempts you with all kinds of stuff to get you to take your focus off God. You have toys, video games, TV shows, movies, smartphones, tablets, four-wheelers, clothes and shoes, musical instruments, and I could go on and on. It’s OK to have or do those things. As long as you don’t forget the reason you’re here in the first place. God loves you. He loves you because He made you. The Bible says He put you together in your mother’s womb. So, no matter what this world throws at you or tempts you with, you can take it. Because God is faithful.

And don’t let anyone tell you God has forgotten you or that He makes bad things happen to bad people. They just want to tempt you into not trusting Him. They want you to trust in the ways of the world and not in Jesus. I’ll let you in on a little secret…

…the ways of the world don’t last very long.

God is faithful and His ways last forever.

Which would you like the best? Something that seems fun and lasts a little while? Or something that’s awesome and lasts forever? I’ll tell you which one I like best…something that’s awesome and lasts forever. People who don’t love God want you to choose the things that don’t last very long. They don’t want you to love God, so they’ll tempt you with fun toys, or money, or all kinds of stuff.

But when you find out how Jesus was willing to leave His place in Heaven, come to earth and become a human man, and then take a whipping for you, you might love Him like I do. The world treated Him so mean. They even killed Him. But the really great thing is…He showed them what for when He rose from the dead and flew back up into Heaven. Before He left, He told his friends to tell everyone how they could go to Heaven, too.

Is that great or what? I’ll tell you what it is…it’s love. In fact, it’s the best kind of love. It comes from God. And God is faithful to give His love and forever life to anyone who loves Him and wants it.

Do you have forever life? Do you want it? I hope you do. And if you do, ask a grownup to show you how to get it. Or send me a note. I’ll show you how you get the angels to sing.

God is faithful in His word
And in His love and deeds.
He knows you are tempted here,
And He knows all your needs.
He provides forever life,
Forever love and care.
Ask Him to be with you now.
He’s faithful to your prayer.

Do you Love the Lord with all your Heart?

With all your heart – Love your Creator

When I say the word “Lord”, do you know who I’m talking about? Does that word remind you of a movie or a video game or some TV show? Or do you know about the Lord who’s the best Lord of all? I’m talking about Jesus. Have you heard of Him? I hope so, because He’s the only Lord who can save you from the bad guys. And He’s the only one who can make sure you live forever…in a place where there aren’t any more bad guys. You should get to know Him. And when you do, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you find yourself wanting to love the Lord with all your heart.

It might seem easy not to believe in someone you can’t see, but here’s another secret for you…God is spirit. And spirit can’t be seen with our human eyes. He’s like love. You can’t see love, but you know it’s real…right? Well, the only reason love is real is because God is real. He loved you before anyone else did. And see the part of you no one else can see. He can see right into your heart and mind and spirit. Since God made you in his image, He loves you better than He loves all the other creatures…even puppies.

So, maybe you don’t understand all this yet. Or maybe you do. Either way, I hope you’ll want to discover more and more about your Creator. If you find out something today, send me a note and tell me. I enjoy those stories more than you know.

Love the Lord with all your heart
And every day be blessed.
One day soon, before you know,
You’ll see His very best.

Give Your Love

Give your love to someone who needs it today

There’s only one thing in this world you get more of when you give it away. Raise your hand, if you know what that is? Hmm…I see a few hands raised. Think about it. Am I talking about food? No. If you have 3 apples, and you give even 1 away, you don’t have more apples. You have less. Maybe it’s money. Well, let’s think about that. If you have 10 dollars and you give even 1 dollar to your friend, you don’t have more money do you? You have less. So, what could you give away and have more of? Yes! That’s it! Love. If you give your love to others today, you’ll have even more love. Now, that’s just downright cool.

There might be someone you know who could really use the kind of love only you can give today. You wouldn’t want them to miss out on it would you? Just imagine how happy they’ll be when they hear you say you love them. Or when you do something special…just for them. Or when you simply sit and listen to their problems. Sometimes people need that more than anything else.

So, what do you say? Will you give your love to someone today?

You’re not gonna hold onto your special love and not share it today, right? All you have to remember is how much Jesus loves you. He gives all He has to you everyday. That should make it easier to give your love away to someone else.

When you do, send me a note and tell me how it made you feel. I’ll bet you feel better and better the more you do it. Here’s a rhyme to help you think about it…

Will you give your love today
In the little things you do?
Will you think of words to say
That will help your neighbor, too?
Will you think before you speak
And say things you might regret?
Will you think up ways to care…
Ways you haven’t thought up yet?
Will you try to keep your love
In a secret hideaway?
Jesus gives you all of His…
You should give your love today.

The Belly Song

I was in a belly; you were in a belly
We were belly babies…once upon a time
Mom was in a belly; Dad was in a belly
We all were belly babies…once upon a time.
Growin’ in a belly…sleepin’ in a belly…
Kickin’ in a belly…once upon a time

Sisters in a belly…brothers in a belly
They all were belly babies…once upon a time

Afraid of Monsters

Hey you! Are you afraid of monsters?

Have you ever read a book or heard a story or watched a movie about monsters under the bed? Or monsters who live in caves? Or monsters who hide under bridges waiting for travelers to cross? Did those stories or movies make you afraid of monsters? Well, there’s something that can help you never be afraid of monsters again. Wanna know what it is? I’ll tell you…

It’s perfect love.

Do you know what perfect love is? First, there’s the word “perfect”. It means something that has nothing wrong with it. It’s not broken. It’s not even cracked. It is exactly the way it should be. Then, there’s the word “love”. You know what that is…right? You love your mom or your dad. And you love your sister or your brother. You love your best friend. It’s that wonderful feeling you get inside when you see the person you love.

So “perfect love” must be a perfectly mushy feeling…right? Well, yes…but then again…maybe not.

The only PERFECT love you’ll ever find comes from God. He created you, and He loves you more than you can ever imagine. And His love is perfect because it’s holy, righteous, and pure. God’s love will never break. It won’t even crack. And He’s always ready, willing, and able to give it all to you…if you want Him to.

So, are you really afraid of monsters?

Do you ever wonder if there are any monsters in your room? Or do you walk over a bridge and wonder if there’s a monster under it? Have you ever watched a movie with monsters and wonder if any of them could be real? If so, talk to God. Tell Him you don’t want to be afraid of monsters or any other bad thing in the world. His perfect love will fly into your heart and into your brain and those monster thoughts will fly out. What do you say? Do you wanna give it a try? If you do, or you did it, send me a note and let me know. And keep in mind…

The perfect love of God can live in you.
He’ll give it to you, if you want Him to.
The monsters never win, when you let Jesus in
And let His perfect love and light shine through.

Everywhere You Go

Everywhere you go

I remember, when I was a boy growing up, how much I loved to ride my bike. Once I learned how it seemed like the whole world opened up to me. And I could go places without anyone else having to drive me there. When I got on my bike and began to pedal and feel the wind in my face, I pretended I was cruising through the galaxies. Then, sometimes I dreamed I was on a strong stallion riding the trails in the Rocky Mountains. And my bike was my rocket to imaginary places.

Then, something happened to me when I was 13 that made my bike riding feel even better. That’s when I discovered a friend who would go with me everywhere I went…even to those imaginary faraway places. Do you have a friend who goes with you everywhere you go? If not, would you like one? I’ll tell you how you can…

This is something you’ll always hear me say…God loves you.

He loves you more and better than anyone else in the world loves you. Not even your mom or dad can love you as much as God loves you. Also, He’s the only friend you’ll ever have who can go with you everywhere you go. And, all you have to do is ask Him.

If you don’t already have God as your forever friend, all you gotta do is tell Him you want Him to be with you everywhere you go. He created all the skies and the stars. And the whole universe. And He’s ready and waiting to show it all to you. So, ask your mom or dad or grandma or grandpa how to talk to God. When somebody shows you how, you’ll see it’s really easy. And once you do, you’ll be able to go all the places you’ve ever gone…and more. And you’ll never be alone again. Isn’t that cool?

Everywhere you go the Lord is ready to be with you.

And everything you do He’ll help you do.
Every time you stumble He is waiting with forgiveness,
But only if you want…you want Him to.

Everywhere you go you have a chance to shine a bright light.
And every day’s a gift of sheer delight.
Every morning wake up with a grateful daily prayer.
Yes, love the Lord, your God…with all your might.

A note to God

A note to God

What are gonna do today? Go swimming? Bike riding? Hiking? Tuba lessons? Whatever your plans are today…how about you take a few minutes to write (or even sing) a note to God. If you write it down, you can keep it and start a collection. And once you have a collection of your notes, you could even write a book. And maybe you could share that book and help other people know more about God. Wow…all because you took a little time to write down your thoughts today.

When you write a note to God…

You don’t have to think up anything just to make it sound important. Just tell God what’s on your mind. Tell Him how you feel. Talk to Him about your day. What you’re gonna do. Where you’re gonna go. And how glad you are that He’ll be with you all the way. You ARE glad about that, aren’t you? Then, tell Him.

Maybe you write down a fun rhyme or short story. God gave you a wonderful brain and lots of imagination. So, do some good thinkin’ and write it down. Tell you what…I’ll go first. Then, you can send me what you come up with. Sound good? Alright. Well, here’s my short note to God…

Dear God, I’m feeling happy today.
I’ve got things to do and places to go,
I’m glad you’ll be with me today.
You keep me strong, and I know
You love me and I love You.
You’re with me the whole day through.
And that’s what makes me happy today.

Find a Reason to be Happy

A reason to be happy

It’s summer right now here in America. And most people think that’s the best time of the year. But maybe you’re not feeling all that good about it. If that’s true, here’s what I want you to do. Go eat a giant chocolate cake all by yourself. No, just kidding. What I really want you to do is go outside and jump over a tree. Oops…just kidding again. Ok, what I really, really want you to do is think really, really hard until you come up with a reason to be happy. Just one reason. When you figure out one reason to be happy, raise your hands. I’ll give you 30 seconds…and…GO!

OK. Everybody find a reason to be happy?

Great. Now, send ’em in to me, and I’ll share them with everyone else. Until then, here are a few reasons to be happy. See if any of these reasons fit you.

I get to sleep in a bed
And eat three meals every day.
I get to ride on a bike
And I’ve got games I can play.
I get to wear brand new shoes
That make me look snappy…
Yeah, I got a reason…
A real good reason…to be happy.

You are Loved Every Night And Day

Every night and day you are loved

I hope you didn’t get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I almost did. When I woke up, it was still dark outside. No cars driving by. No train noises off in the distance. And no breakfast cooking. Nothing was going on. Everything was still and quiet. And I just woke up. Couldn’t sleep.

At first I was a little mad because I didn’t get to sleep as long as I wanted. Then I got up, got a drink of water, ate a piece of toast with butter and grape jelly, and thought about how I’m lucky to be alive. Then I started to think about how much God loves me. And how much He’s loved me every day and night of my life. And I started to feel better…and better…and finally good.

Every night and day you get to choose things.

Do you really wanna be grumpy and make everybody frown? Naaa. You’re not really like that. You like people to smile, don’t you? Well, the easiest way to get people smiling is for you to be the first one to smile. Just think. You could start a whole day of smilers. And you could smile at yourself in the mirror while you brush your teeth. Then smile at mom or dad or your sister or brother or your friends. This works no matter what part of the world you live in. Trust me. I’ve done it. It works. So what do you say? Are you ready to get things started? You can do this when you remember God loves you every night and day.

Have you already done it? If so, let me know how it worked for you. OK?

Is it Friday where you are?
Or is it Saturday?
This ol’ world’s so big and round
It’s really hard to say
Because you live over there
And I live over here.
As you watch the sun rise up
I see it disappear.
It might not make sense to you.
Don’t worry. That’s Okay
‘Cause God’s love is here with us
Through every night and day.

Your Big Idea

What’s your big idea today?

You got up. Then you had breakfast. You got dressed. And you cleaned your room. Now what? Any ideas? Got some fun things to do? Or places to go? What’s your big idea for the day?

So, what’s your big idea?

Whatever it is…it can wait. I don’t mean for a year, a month, a week, or even a day. But it can wait…till you spend a little time thanking God for your life today. Because if it wasn’t for Him, you wouldn’t even be here. And you sure wouldn’t have your big idea. Or even any little ones. He made you. And He gave you a good brain. And He wants to see what kind of magical things you can do with it. So, don’t you think it’s a good idea to take at least a couple of minutes to stop and thank Him?

Maybe you could say something like this…

Thank you God for big ideas
And for my life today.
Thank you for my breakfast
And the time I get to play.

Thank you Lord for loving me
And hearing when I pray…
And I trust You’ll help me with
My big idea today.
