You can know you actually have the breath of life from God in you. Yeah, check out the first few chapters in Genesis where God created the whole world and everything in it. And He waited till the 6th day for the creation of man. Maybe you’ve read this account but possibly missed the nuance between humans and every other living thing.
The creation of man has a subtle, and huge, breath of life difference.
I went through the Genesis account of creation when I started writing “The Very First 6 Days.” And for some reason that “breath of life” part really stood out for the first time.
I noticed how God created the Earth and separated the water from dry land. And how He put “lights” into the heavens. Then, He blessed the ground with every plant that could reproduce “according to its kind.” After that, He created all the land, sea, and air creatures and gave each one the ability to reproduce “according to its kind”.
God finished up with the creation of Man.
But there’s a ginormous difference between Man and all the rest of the creatures and creation.
The Bible says “And then the Lord God formed man of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life”. He didn’t do that to any of the other creatures.
Only humans received life directly from God’s life. His very essence entered into us. And us alone. And only humans were made in the “image and likeness of God”. No other creatures.
We’re unique. When someone says you’re just another animal on the planet, you know better.
If you’re unsure if you have the breath of life from God in you, do this.
Look in the mirror. Do you see a human being? Then you have it.
BUT…
You gotta trust God and trust that His Son, Jesus, died for your sins. Because, if you don’t, that breath of life will leave you forever when you breathe your last breath here on Earth.
You’re not gonna let that happen. Right? Especially since there’s a super simple solution. And it comes down to this.
Either the God and Savior of the Bible, the one responsible for the creation of Man, is real or He isn’t. Either you can prove He doesn’t exist, or you can’t. When I considered the mountain of evidence FOR the existence of Jesus, I chose to trust Him. I chose life.
Do you know someone who hasn’t chosen life? Do you know someone who’s tormented by it? Let them know while there is still the breath of life in them, it’s not too late to choose.
And then God said, “Let us make man,
Not like the things before.
We’ll make them in our image
And we’ll give them so much more.”
