You’re not perfect, and that’s something you should never worry about. If you’re worrying, and fretting, and always thinking about how you can or could be perfect, you’re really going to limit how much good you can do for others in this world.
Think about this…even though you’re not perfect I’ll bet your mom loves you…or your dad…or your best friends. Right? Are they crazy to love such a messed up person? No. They love you just because you’re you. And they enjoy being around you. Or they enjoy the way you laugh, or tell a funny story, or make a funny face.
They know you’re not perfect.
And those people who love you probably know they’re not perfect either. That’s how all of us humans should be able to see each other…and get along better. Of course we don’t all get along or love each other…or even like each other. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. The easiest way to start getting along with people is to not look for their flaws and goofs.
So, don’t worry that…
You’re not perfect
And neither am I.
And both of us
Should never try.
Perfect people
Don’t exist.
If you think so,
Please resist.
You can be you…
And it’s okay.
Keep on growing
Every day…
In your spirit,
Body, and soul.
You’re much more than
Energized coal.
You didn’t happen.
You were designed
A loving Creator
Had you in mind
To be a real person
To think and do…
And though you’re not perfect
You’re perfectly YOU.
