“If matter’s all there is, then nothing really matters.” I’ve said that many times over the years. And for a very good reason. Because you are the only you. And the enormous amount of information found in just one of your trillions of cells shows how true that is as it reveals your unique story.

Yeah, truth proves that you are the only you.

But there’s something really interesting about truth. People either love the truth or hate it. And that’s because the truth either sets them free or convicts them. And freedom is great. But that whole conviction thing is a horse of a different color. And people don’t want that different color. Most of them prefer neutral tones.

I’m as fond of gray as the next guy, when it comes to painting things around the house. Because it goes with just about everything. But when it comes to truth, going with gray, or neutral tones, is a recipe for turning you into God puke. Take that off your to-do list.

But let’s get back to your unique story. The reason I write entertaining books for you (especially for kids) is because your story matters. (by the way, “reason” isn’t found in matter)

ThatAnd your story matters because you were created by the original, infinitely brilliant storyteller. You didn’t just happen. And the story of who you are and why you look and sound the way you do is written inside the cells of your body. It’s like a secret code.

But it’s not a secret anymore.

Technology now gives us access to DNA where your code (your story) is written.

Your code is yours and no one else has the your code. That’s how and why you are the only you. And this is true of every person on the earth. Big or little. Fat or skinny. Blue or pink, so to speak.

If we took the code inside of you and used a special decoder ring, we could read the one book in the world written just about you.

It would tell us why your singing voice is so nice. Or why you can’t carry a tune in a bucket. It would tell us how you grew up to be a 7 foot basketball player in the NBA. Or a 5 foot jockey in the Kentucky Derby. Well, your code wouldn’t tell us how you won a place in the NBA or the Kentucky Derby. But it would show us why you’re tall or short.

Imagine how many other things we could learn about you by reading the teeny, tiny instructions in each of the trillions of cells in your body. But then there wouldn’t be time to read or do anything else. You can just be sure that…

Your Story Matters

Inside a trillion tiny cells
Where no one’s eyes can see…
A trillion times your story flies
On sparks of energy.

That energy is life itself
The fire to light your way
To write your story and to live
And love someone today.

Be thankful for your source of life
And bow or smile and nod…
Because your story matters most,
When it reveals our God.   © 2013 TF

Real scientists exist but fake ones still persist.

Yeah, it’s true. Real scientists actually do still exist. But there are so many others I describe as
“so-called scientists” that you won’t typically find the real ones on TV or radio.

Thank goodness we have the internet for the real scientists.

Because, over the past couple of decades, real scientists have been working on the genetic code in humans. And they found out something so incredible you’d almost have to have a working brain cell or two to believe.

They found out humans fall into two categories or sets of chromosomes. The XY set. And the YY set. XY chromosomes are found in males. And YY chromosomes are found in females. Why? Why?! It’s by design. And not the design of some kook with a test tube.

Nope. God gave you twenty-three chromosomes from each of your parents. So, your physical design, is found in those forty six chromosomes.

Now, here’s a vitally important part to this information that’s completely ignored and even shunned by so-called “pro choice” advocates.

Forty six chromosomes are all present from the moment of conception.

Here’s what that means. The moment a human sperm fertilizes a human egg, you have a brand new human. Everything a person needs, to be a unique person, is found in those forty six chromosomes at conception. Are you with me so far?

Great.

Your chromosomes determine whether you’ll be tall or short, portly or lean, blue eyes and blond hair or green eyes and brown hair, and rich or poor.

Just kidding on the “rich or poor” part. Just checking to see if you’re paying attention.

But the cool thing is that you get to work on the rich or poor part yourself.

And I don’t know if you realize this or not, but science actually agrees with God on this subject. So, you’d think it would be a no-brainer. Case closed. End of discussion. And verdict reached. A human embryo is a human. Next case.

But, sadly, that’s not the case.

Too many selfish (even to the arrogant level) people ignore the facts. You’re a person. And your physical design is in motion from the moment of conception. And, please, let’s not argue over when the moment of conception is. If we can’t agree on when that moment is, can’t we at least agree not to kill IT until after we know what IT is?

Here’s a little mathematical equation I came up with. Let me know what you think. Because your opinion is just as important as other real scientists.

23 + 23 = 1

I got a little bit from my mom
I got a little bit from my dad
And I got my DNA from the great Yahweh
And it’s the only life I’ve had

Twenty-three plus twenty-three is one
Chromosomes were a mystery
But that mystery is gone.
Twenty-three plus twenty-three is one.
Until we learn to add it up…
The lesson isn’t quite done.

Man is good except for most of the time

Man is good, except for most of the time

I saw a Christian, on social media, quoting Ronald Reagan. And the quote was, “I know in my heart that man is good, that what is right will always eventually triumph, and there is purpose and worth to each and every life.” I enjoyed listening to Mr. Reagan. He delivered engaging and entertaining speeches. But that time he was wrong. [powerpress_player]

Man is good except for most of the time

To say man is good is to totally ignore history.

And if you’re a Christian, you know (or should know) Jesus Himself said the total opposite. And who are you gonna believe? Ronald Reagan? Or Jesus? (I hope that’s a rhetorical question, but I’m not so sure.)

History books are laid out on the framework of man’s inhumanity to his fellow man. And day-to-day news is played out the same way. Human beings murder other human beings with heartbreaking ferocity. And the voracious lust for blood seems to be increasing with each new year.

How could anyone dare say man is good?

And yet, there are potentially redeemable qualities in each and every one. Otherwise, I don’t believe Jesus would have suffered such a tortured death. He created us. And His desire is that none of us should perish. So, He willingly allowed Himself to be nailed to a cross, high on a hill where everyone could see. And He endured an agonizing, humiliating death just so you and I could live forever.

But if man was truly good, that would’ve never happened.

Now, I get it. Maybe you want to choose to see the good in everyone. And if you’re doing that with the same motive as Jesus, fine. But I know most people who say man is good are just ignorant (willfully most times) of the truth. And remember, it’s the Truth that’ll set you free. Not what you feel like is true. But what IS true. Say that.

If I Didn’t Know Better

If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were right,
When you said what you said that dark and fateful night.
But you got it all wrong when you said, “man is good.”
And that’s a conclusion I’ve never understood.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say that you care.
But a person who knows the Truth would never share
Anything contrary to what our Maker said.
So, it’s vital to get the truth into your head.

If I didn’t know better, I’d leave it alone.
And I’d shelter myself inside my comfort zone.
But I know it’s essential to rightly divide
The Word of Truth with the world that just wants to hide.

Moon origin story

A loony moon origin story

Once upon a time, there was this hot mess in the middle of an even more gigantic hot mess. Let’s call the little hot mess, Earth. And the bigger hot mess we’ll call the Solar System. There was an even bigger hot mess called the universe. But I don’t want this moon origin story to get too big, so let’s stay close to home.

Moon origin story

Why is this moon origin story important?

Lots of people, even some with degrees and pedigrees, think the moon evolved after either being spun off Earth or from particles from Earth. I’m inclined to disagree because the moon’s orbit is too inclined. And that’s not something I feel because I’m a Christian. It’s information backed up with research and information from a guy who got his PhD from M.I.T.

Anyway…back to the story…

Lots of people, even some with degrees and pedigrees, thought our cute, little moon was just a part of Earth that flew into space when a big, mean rock (maybe as big as Mars) hit our planet. But then some astronauts flew to the moon, landed on it, and brought back some pieces of it.

You’d think those pieces should have looked more like the big, mean rock that hit Earth. But they actually looked like pieces of Earth. (Because they ARE pieces of Earth) And if the big, mean rock, or whatever it was, was so big and hit our planet so hard, then Earth should have started spinning too fast. Or if the rock just barely hit Earth, there wouldn’t have been enough parts to form the moon.

But none of that happened.

In fact, explanations that leave out God, sound so silly, you could make this joke about their moon origin story: “The best explanation [for the Moon] was observational error””the Moon does not exist.”

And the moral of the story is this: God does exist. And He made the moon, the sun, Earth, all the other planets, and the whole universe. The moon is part of an intricate design by our Creator who holds it all together with His will.

I’m thrilled it’s not all an accident. It gives me great hope and anticipation of eternal life with the One who loves me enough to die for all my mistakes. Hope and faith based on evidence. What more could a mere mortal desire?

As you start your week…

I know you’re beginning to formulate plans for Thanksgiving next week. And I hope you take some time to stop and thank God for even being able to celebrate this holiday. And if you have some extra time and would like to know more about why we celebrate Thanksgiving, I encourage you to read the real story of what the Pilgrims went through to get here to America.

It’s an eye-opening and spirit-lifting tale of heroic proportions. Fortunately we can celebrate our faith, hope, and love without much worry of whether or not half our families will die this winter. That’s just one of the countless blessings we can be thankful for. And I’m thankful and grateful for my readers and listeners. Stay tuned, and I’ll keep sharing.

Now…here’s what you’ll find in this week’s podcast.
I shared articles about:

  • men and long hair
  • complex molecules and organs
  • eating at home
  • your vital organs
  • how ignorance is not bliss
  • the cold hard truth
