You probably haven’t noticed. But a lot of people sure have a lot of opinions. And they sure don’t mind sharing them with you. Even when you didn’t ask or request. And I wish most of them would shut up already. Because their opinions are about as silly as the sound of their voice when they share them.
But I hope you shut up, too.
Uh-oh. I’ve gone and done it now. Right? It was OK for me to talk about “them.” But now I just fired a verbal shot at you. And that’s a bridge too far.
Well, ease up their buddy boy (or girl). Let me explain. And hopefully it’ll ease the burn of the bullet. This is something I shared years ago. And it’s truer now than ever.
When people around you fly off the handle, that’s a good time to keep your lips sealed. Wanna know why? Because then you won’t sin. When everybody’s yelling at each other, they say mean and hurtful things.. Sometimes they even yell out lies. Other times someone calls another person a name, and things really go wrong.
When you see that happening, shut up.
But what good does that do?
Well, for one thing, you won’t get caught up in the terrible things.
I’m sharing this with you for your own protection. If people around you are doing awful things, you don’t wanna be part of that. Do you? No, it’s not good or smart to get caught up in all that. That’s why God says someone who keeps his lips sealed is wise.
And being wise is the best thing you can be. Wisdom is something you should work on your whole life. There’s no time better than now to get started.
So, if you find yourself around somebody who’s yelling, or saying terrible things, or just trying to be mean…just shut up. Don’t fall for it. You’ll be doing a mighty good thing. And when you do, let me know about it…OK?
Just shut up when others yell.
It’s the wise choice. Time will tell
