No matter how awesome your plans are, you still gotta take your life one day at a time. Have you ever noticed how that never changes?
It’s because life passes one day at a time.
And there’s nothing anyone can do to change that. So, you might as well relax. And take God’s advice about it. He said don’t worry about tomorrow because there’s plenty to deal with today.
There are multiple places, in the Bible, where God says not to worry and not to fear. But golly gee, Wally. Doesn’t God know how this world is filled up with bad stuff? How could he expect you not to worry or fear when there’s so much evil here?
I wrote a poem for kids to encourage them to think positively one day at a time. And I based on a place to eat. I called on my own memories and weird pictures in my head, from the many diners and restaurants I’ve eaten in across America.
So, this cafe doesn’t really exist. It’s just a figment of my nostalgic imagination. But I can imagine it and see it in living color. And I think there should be a chain of the Day By Day Cafes all across America. Read this to your kids or grandkids and see if you guys would care to join me at the…

You can order up an orange juice
Order up some toast.
You can order up the sandwich
That you really like most.
And you can order up a root beer
And drink it right away…
At the Day By Day Café.
You can have a bowl of cereal
And not a thing more.
You can order watermelon, and
Eat it off the floor.
Get all your favorite loony tunes
And let ’em all play…
At the Day By Day Café.
You can order up some breakfast
And order up some lunch.
You can order up tortilla chips,
And have a light brunch.
And you never have to leave this place.
