Mother's Day 2026

For the past 1213 years it’s been sort of a tradition of mine to share a list I came up with about the unsung deeds of mothers everywhere. And I think I’ll keep it going for this Mother’s Day 2026. My own mom has been in Heaven for all the Mother’s Days since 2021. But I include her in this list: To all the … Read the rest…

Wednesday greetings and temporary soul beatings

This is the day of the week known in some circles as hump day. So you know what that means. Yeah, Wednesday greetings from your favorite rhyme writer and Bible thumper. But Wednesday greetings are just the tip of the iceberg. Because, if you’ve followed along for any time at all, you know I’m gonna talk about something important to your eternal happiness. Or … Read the rest…

Battle with cancer and a short answer

17 years ago today a tough little girl lost her battle with cancer. She wasn’t even 3 years old. And most of her life was a struggle to survive. I never knew her, but I know her Grandmother. And I saw the anguish she went through miss her granddaughter slipped away.  Tuesday was the little girl’s name. And I wrote a tribute song based … Read the rest…

It isn’t scientific. And it rhymes. So my book about the first 6 days of creation might not be appropriate for the intellectual Christian. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the apostle Paul would enjoy reading it. And I might even go as far as to say I don’t even think Jesus would have a problem with it. And He was the only one … Read the rest…

Pelican landing memory brought to you by me

Just saw pelican landing in the water yesterday. It reminded me of a short memory I shared several years ago. It went a little something like this: I remember my first ferry ride across Galveston Bay in Texas. Yes, it was a long time ago. My grandparents were visiting from Oklahoma. And my dad drove them and the rest of the family to see … Read the rest…

Kids and puppies playing makes this worth saying

I bet you’ve seen ’em too. Videos of kids and puppies playing are all over YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and probably every other social media platform. But why? It certainly can’t be the cuteness factor. Because, really, kids and puppies playing is just plain boring. Right? I mean, if you’ve seen one kids and puppies video, you’ve seen them all. And it’s not like they’re … Read the rest…

Milkman hours were tough and the time was not enough

My Dad worked hard. And for most of his life he worked milkman hours, back in the days when a milkman delivered dairy products door-to-door. I remember those milkman hours first-hand. Because dad took me with him on a LOT of Saturdays. So, when I say he worked hard, I know what I’m talking about from personal experience. First, you get up around 3 … Read the rest…
