“Last month (September 2026) shoppers discovered the Dick’s Sporting Goods personalization feature rejected Christian terms like “God,” “Jesus,” and “Bible.” but allowed “atheist,” “satanic,” “prophet muhammad,” “quran,” and “allahu akbar.” Actor Rob Schneider called it Christianophobic and vowed to stop buying sports gear there, while others cited past issues like Pride support and firearms policies. The filter was quietly lifted by September 29–30 after complaints spread, with no public statement from Dick’s.”
That’s a blurb I read, in a trending news feed, on X.com this morning. And, of course, it reveals a double standard. But…
I love that Christianity is held to the higher (and double) standard. And I love that Christianity is the one faith singled out, in this world, from all the others. Because it’s the only faith built on the foundation of the one, true, living, God of creation.
When a sporting goods store’s personalization feature rejects Jesus, I personally reject them.
I don’t believe I’ve ever bought anything in one of their stores anyway. But I definitely won’t from now on. It doesn’t matter that they “fixed” the issue. The “issue” still reveals their bias. And it’s the opposite of my bias. Yeah, I have a bias toward believing and trusting that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. Hopefully everyone with that same bias, who has shopped at that sporting goods store, will never do that again.
I’d like to be able to support only Christians in this world. Only people who understand the enormous, eternal price. Jesus paid to be sure that anyone who desires, can live forever with him in paradise. No others. But we live in a discombobulated, convoluted, world of chaos and confusion. So that isn’t realistically possible. But it’s certainly doable in situations like this.
By the way, chaos and confusion weren’t ordained or decreed by God. Those problems come from the ruler of this world, who currently is NOT Jesus. But that’s a BAM for another time. Till then, chew on this…
So do you want to thank Him for
Destruction and despair?
Is He the author of confusion?
You see it everywhere…
No! No! A thousand times no! (lyrics from my song © 2008)
