It doesn’t mean to joice again. It means to show or express “great joy.” But things are SO bad in the world right now. How’s anybody supposed to rejoice and be glad under these circumstances?
Well, Paul was able to rejoice and be glad when things were bad.
Yeah, he told the Philippian Christians, that he was “being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.” And if you know anything about what Paul went through to share his message, you know that was no small feat.
I believe Paul understood, and kept in mind, how much God loves His creations. And He formed you in your songmother’s womb. He knit your bones and muscles together with His words. And He knows the number of the hairs on your head. You matter to Him. So, that’s enough reason to rejoice and be glad right there.
The Creator of the universe loves you. So, “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another fin psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Today, get on your feet, dust off your larynx, warm up, have a cup of coffee or tea, and show God how much you love Him in return. Do Him a solid and rejoice with singing. Feel free to admonish me if you disagree with the suggestion.

And my spirit will rejoice
