There’s a book called “Hope Is Not A Strategy” by an author named Rick Page. But hope and faith and love ARE part of the strategy of a Christian believer. Or they certainly should be.
Need proof that hope is alive?
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13:13 where the Apostle Paul talks about the perfect trio; faith, hope, and love. The whole chapter there is actually talking about love (“the greatest of these”). But Paul talks about how faith leads to hope. And that hope is for being with the One who loves you enough to give you eternal life.
And really, you can’t take the three things apart. You hope for the savior you can’t see. Your faith in Him and His Word gives you comes from that and helps build up your faith. Of course, it’s all built on the foundation of love. Because, without love, none of the rest of it amounts to much, if anything.
What do you hope for?
That you’ll be able to make it through another day of office grind? Or cooking, cleaning, and kids? Maybe it’s to make it to the end or beginning of the month bills and expenses? Or rising prices?
Do you hope for world peace and a better tomorrow? Or that someone will stop all the violence in America? Is there anything you believe your hope will help? Or does it all seem hopeless?
Well, maybe hope is not a strategy for making a lot of dollars and cents in sales. But it’s an essential part of the strategy you should implement when it comes to making a lot of sense in the world.
I hope you hope for bigger hope,
The kind where Jesus lives.
Just ask Him for His love and grace.
I promise you…He gives.
