OK, this might get a little controversial for you. But I believe the heart of God is physical. Even though God, the Father, is, and always has been, the sovereign Spirit who holds all life together.
So, how could the heart of God be physical?
Well, first, I have to clear up a little detail. When I say that about the heart of God, I base it on what I call metaphorical personification. Now there’s a silver dollar term for you. The metaphorical part comes from describing God’s non-physical core as a physical heart. And the personification part explains what I mean. Because I believe Jesus is God’s heart.
Now don’t get all wound up on theological theses and theories. Because, as I say at the bottom of my posts, my ongoing devotional (the FunderFlash Journal – aka this website’s blog), my content is logical AND emotional. So, I guess you could say this falls under the emotional part. It’s a feeling I have.
I hope you do too. And if you trust the power of God’s love, I bet we’re in agreement.
The day begins, while night remains,
A little while, through window panes.
The sun sneaks up into the skies
And opens up resisting eyes.
A coffee pot, with rhythmic sounds,
Takes water and some coffee grounds,
And turns them into morning words,
While just outside the songs of birds
Bounce off the trees into the air.
The signs of grace are everywhere.
So, as I write this message down,
I want each verb and every noun
To see, acknowledge, and applaud
How life is from the heart of God. © 2021
