So…How’s The Weather Where You Are?

That’s actual temperature…not heat index or ambient heat from sitting in the sun…

And I gotta tell ya…that’s too hot. So, if we could just get Congress to shut up for a day or so, things could cool back into the 90′s.

Don’t Dis This Singer Songwriter For His Dissonance

So…

…I’m workin’ on some new music, and it occurs to me…I really like dissonance in a chord. There’s just something full and rich about 3 notes very close together in a chord. They fill it up. They give it depth. They take it up a notch. Scratch that…they take it up 2 notches. Yeah, that’s better.

The next time you’re sitting at a piano, play an F minor 3 note chord. (F, A♭, C) It’s a nice mood setter. But then simply add G and gee! So much richer, fuller, smoother. Maybe it’s just me, and you can “dis” me if you like, but I love dissonance in music.

Just thought I’d pass that along. OK…back to your regularly scheduled program…
