Here’s just a small section, in a letter from Paul, to Philemon, that shows part of why I always talk about the power of God’s love.
I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers, hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints, that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, (Philemon 4–7, NKJV)
In that same letter from Paul to Philemon you discover Paul’s motivation.
Let me have joy from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in the Lord. (Philemon 20, NKJV)
It’s a mighty good thing to have your heart refreshed in the Lord. And there’s nothing like great joy and consolation in love to make that possible.
But the kind of love that has the power I always mention can only happen when you acknowledge who is the King of kings. And the good news is; that King’s love is what holds the entire universe together. And the better news is He says he’ll never leave you nor forsake you.
